Hey guys, I have an ASUS Zenfone 2 2GB (ZE551ML) and I recently rooted my phone and installed a custom rom based off of CM 12.1. I read about how PAD worked on CM 12 or it worked if you granted super user permission to it. Whenever I try to open up PAD, it would go to a black screen and then exit back to my home screen. I have SuperSU V2.4.6 and I was wondering if there is a way to grant it permission because I can't seem to find out how or if PAD just doesn't work on CM 12.1. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please held I think the person that sold this phone to me did some modification. Because I can't factory reset it soft or hard reset it goes into recovery mode. And when I check for updates it say phone modified no update pls help
Hey guys, I'm pretty much a noob at rooting and unlocking. Up until I rooted my nexus 5 in the hopes to get side by side apps I haven't rooted since my gs2. Anyways I rooted my phone via the nexus 5 root toolkit and unlocked the bootloader and whatnot. I found out that I couldn't do side by side because it wasn't available for my version of android. I attempted to unroot and return to stock and I just unrooted and locked the bootloader. I'm a total noob at this and have googled for hours and can't figure out how to return my phone to stock without twrp. Everytime I try to do OTA updates it just restarts to twrp and it's super annoying. Can anyone give me a for dummies walkthrough of how to get back to stock so I can do OTA updates?
i'm trying since 2 days to fix my phone, because i accidently deleted the backup from the SD Card, after falsly assuming it was the old one. What i got is a bootloop after trying to install DragonROM_Minimalist-1.2.9 via PhilzTouch recovery mode. I did the Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe delvik cache and clean for new rom before installing the zip. I have a rooted Kernel and Bootloader unlocked. I simply restarted the Phone after installing that ROM and it is stuck in bootloop.
I'm running a x64 HTC Desire 510 bought from Tesco and i have Windows 10 (also got Ubuntu installed on another partition, if that somehow helps)
I tried those RUU Files, but the Programm just keeps closing and nothing happens. (I have all vcredist packages installed) I tried to download the kernel zip from the htc download site and apply it via fastboot flash zip, but that was a big fail to. I tried unpacking the ROM from the RUU Programm and installing that via Flash zip, which gave me "FAILED (remote: 24 parsing android-info fail)" I tried to place (several different) 0PCVIMG.zip on the SD Card and rebooting to HBOOT, which gave an error that was to large for the screen
I found a total of about 4 Errors durings fastboot flash zip, such as remote 99, remote 42, etc...
I really don't know what to do now.. Anyone help?
It doesn't necessarily has to be to stock version, it would be perfect, if that ROM would work..
Ok, so I got an old Nook Simple Touch. In part because they can be had for such a cheap price on eBay these days and in part because they're among the few eInk based devices that run on Android and can actually be unlocked and more done with them than the manufacturers intended (I've used an old Kindle and man I hate how locked down and generally useless they are.) Actually, I was hoping I could do some neat stuff like setup daydream with weather info and a clock and all on it while the screen was "off" but I guess I forgot that this is a relatively new thing and it looks like it's based on a really really old Android version? Either way, I'm so used to CyanogenMod and its relatively near to AOSP nature that this thing is feeling horribly limiting and unpleasant to use for me.
Anyway, I've been searching around for various guides and such. I've found tools for rooting and putting the Google Market (yeesh, I forgot they used to call it "Market" ages ago.) It seems I needed to update the system to 1.1 for this (I had bootloops until I did, so clearly you have to have the right system version.) It seems there is a newer version or two beyond this though, but I didn't see root tools (I'm still hoping I can do more with this that might require root access to actually do.) Should I be updating beyond that? Namely, are there tools to actually root and all if I do?
Also, in the meantime, I'm running into troubles with the plain and simple fact that neither Google Market nor Amazon's app store installed by these tools work which may not be fixable. The thread on here says to add an account through Youtube first, then go to gmail and manually refresh over and over until it eventually crashes. After probably 15 minutes of this my hands were too tired to continue though. I just don't think it's supposed to take 15 minutes though. When I start the market it doesn't crash like that guide mentions either. Is there any other way to fix this? Is there any point? Obviously the market app is quite old, so perhaps it's simply never going to work? Is there some alternative way to find stuff that actually works on the NST? I thought to do F-Droid, but even it requires a newer SDK version apparently (I'm getting kind of curious what version of Android its base corresponds to. Does it predate 2.2? If so I may be in trouble since I don't think any of the stuff I was hoping I could put on there will go lower than 2.2.)
For this matter, is there a better way I can do stuff like loading apps? I was hoping to at least have a file manager to be able to use do stuff, but they didn't include one. I'll probably have to track down an apk. For now I'm having to actually use the network adb (I installed the version of the tools that was supposed to do adb over USB, but it doesn't even show up as an adb device at all for me to even so much as install a driver, so I guess it's not doing adb over USB as it should. The network method seems to work, though I'm not a big fan of leaving it wide open like that on principle really, yet remembering to manually change it on and off is a pain too.)
I realize this is a really old device and probably it is very limited what I can really do with it, but I was hoping I could at least squeeze a bit of use out of it. In particular, I'm going to need a much better reading app even if I use it for its intended purpose only. When I looked it up I had thought it was a close enough to stock Android that I'd be able to load up most apps I guess and I didn't think it would be so hard to even get anything on it.
Well I just found out the turbo 2 doesn't transfer from the device to a USB but it does transfer from the USB to the device. This sucks I need it to work the other way. I hope they fix this with marshmallow or a small update. There is not reason a device should not support this in today's day and age.

Hi I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post this question so do let me know if it isn't.
I have an Xperia C3, and am currently on stock 5.0 rom. There is another zip file containing the prerooted rom+recovery but the dev has not responded to my asking for the boot.img and recovery zip needed to ADB flash recovery on any 5.1.1 rom of my choosing.
So my question is, is it possible to simply extract the recovery zip and boot.img from the prerooted zip and then installing it via adb onto a no-recovery stock 5.1.1 rom?
I assumed getting the stand alone version of this watch it would use the GPS connection of my phone. But when I went for a run using nike+ I noticed that it says that the GPS signal could not be found but I see the GPS icon at the top of my status bar, has anyone had this problem and found a fix?
Htc desire 816g soft bricked. I tried to root using kingo root android app, root was successful after that i tried flashing twrp using rashr android app. I didnt show any effect on the device then i tried using twrp installer android app. It shown me an error " something is wrong" Flashing recovery was unsuccessful either you already have this recovery installed or another error has occured. Would you like to attempt rebooting to recovery now? Cancel ok
I clicked ok Here i lost the recovery mode , help me getting back my recovery mode please i request you. Help will be appreciated and thanks in advance.
Could someone share the files from /persist partition? I accidantly remove this files and now have a problem with wifi. I saw some threads about this problem here, but files of it doesn't help.
Hey friends, is there any way to enable DT2W (Double Tap to Wake) for otus? I'm so used to it since my past phones and since I got this as a secondary phone I'm missing this feature so much. I'm still wondering why Motorola left this feature out, since almost all new phones have native support for this. I also saw that some developer made it possible in Moto E 1st Generation. Is there a kernel dev out here who can make this happen for us too?
Hi, My One M7 started malfunctioning all of the sudden and now cannot boot android and stuck at HTC splash screen.
I would like to recover contacts and data(pdfs, images) from the phone.
The device is not-rooted, locked(as it seems in bootloader) and stock rom is installed. On my PC drivers are installed(ADB mode) and ADB, FastBoot up-to-date.
When I'm in HBOOT 1.61 I choose fastboot mode and I plug the phone via USB2 to the Win10 machine. I can see fastboot USB in red and send the command
Code:
fastboot devices
it returns the serial of my device.
But when i try
Code:
adb devices
command i get empty list. So i cannot backup.
I also tried to unplug USB and plug it back in
Code:
adb kill-server
Code:
adb start-server
Code:
adb devices
But still get empty list of devices.
Also tried the recovery option in bootloader but I get empty list of devices for both
Code:
fastboot devices
Code:
adb devices
How can I backup my data? Is it possible to unlock the device from bootloader install custom recovery(with backup features) without losing data?
I was trying to replace my watch band today and I noticed that a small part of the pin got separated from the rest (see the attached photo). It was the first time I removed the band, so I don't know if this is normal or if the pin got damaged. I was able to reinsert that part into the pin and reattach the band to the watch, but I'm afraid the band may fall apart from the watch during use.
Hi forum. I currently have Verizon service and am considering this phone. I asked a Verizon employee about using it on T-Mobile and she said it wouldn't work. Looking at frequencycheck.com I see the following supported bands:
Band LG V10 - VS990 LG V10 - H901 Band 8 - GSM 850 Yes Yes Band 10 - E-GSM 900 Yes Yes Band 13 - DCS 1800 Yes Yes Band 14 - PCS 1900 Yes Yes Band 1 - 2100 Yes Yes Band 2 - 1900 PCS Yes Yes Band 4 - AWS 1 Yes Yes Band 5 - 850 Yes Yes LTE Band 2 - 1900 PCS Yes Yes LTE Band 3 - 1800 + Yes Yes LTE Band 4 - AWS 1 Yes Yes LTE Band 5 - 850 Yes Yes LTE Band 7 - 2600 Yes Yes LTE Band 12 - 700 ac Yes Yes LTE Band 13 - 700 c Yes LTE Band 20 - 800 DD Yes
I see that it supports the same bands as T-Mobile version ( model H901 ) and I understand that it is carrier unlocked so why wouldn't it work if I used a T-Mobile SIM ?
Hello, I have a stereo Pumpkin and worked perfect. Today I wanted it on and stays on and the logo will not start. And I tried pressing the reset button and disconnect the car battery and remains unchanged. I leave a video demonstration of what it does.
Anyone ever been trying to flash the stock OG5.TAR through ODIN and had it fail, then sayd Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again. I can not get a rom or stock tar to flash and work after having other issues.
Also tried flashing twrp again, then going into recovery and flashing Sac23's Rom, and get this error:
symlink: some symlinks failed E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/external_sd/Note_5_Sac23_Port_V2.1.zip' Error flashing zip '/external_sd/Note_5_Sac23_Port_V2.1.zip'
I really want root in this thing then we can later achieve unlocking the bootloader.
Status: WIP
So right now,I had a,boot image that actually created the su folder but I can't use it because binary isn't flashed with the locked recovery we have http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...35&postcount=2 Thanks @Chainfire . Now the goal is to ether preload the temp boot.img with supers then modify the system files to get permeant root on this. I have included three files in this zip, the boot.img (unmodified from the update file from amazon ), bootimg.ece (tool for Windows computer to pack and unpack the bootimg) and finally the steps to use it and make sure you open cmd from the folder or cd where the boot.img and bootimg.exe is located. Use one of the boot images from the link I gave you as a template. I'm 99% sure it won't brick but there's still Tha 1% chance so I'm not liable if you so brick your device.
To test it: 1.Get inti fastboot mode ethier via adb "adb reboot bootloader" or turning on your device holding power and volume up button (Make sure you have the drivers) 2. Put your newly edited boot.img in the same folder as the adb is unless you know how to flash it correctly. 3. Enter fastoot boot boot.img and it should say okay and boot into your modified boot image.
This is a temporary flash meaning this will not mess with the original boot partition so if your image ****ed up or your home screen won't show just restart the tablet. It may show installing updates sometimes but don't worry your data is safe. But always backup!!!
Hello, I need to send my device to Samsung for checking about those problems I have posted. As far as I recall, Keis does not back up things that I wrote in Action Memo and S Note. Is there a way to do it? My device is not rooted.
Few months ago, some users mentioned that I need to root my device in order to be able to use software that would allow a full backup and recovery. Does it still hold true?
so just curious has anyone found out how to debrand the M8 I have the Verizon variant and I'm looking to flash the T-Mobile RUU and just wanting to know if anyone has even came close?
Hello, few months ago, Samsung replaced the entire screen for me free of charge because they thought that the lack of responsiveness and random garbage (barcode like images) on screen were caused by a faulty screen. Few days after I took it back, I had the same problem. I reported to them but as I was in another country, I could not get it repaired. Then, I got other issues such as device rebooting by itself when I pressed the camera app, rebooting continuously like crazy whenever the device is running out of power, etc. I dropped the device (screen facing down) once recently. There was a dent at the corner but the screen remained intact. I don't know if Samsung would say that all the problems are caused by the dropping. I have bought the device over a year ago. What if they charge me? Is it worth to pay to have it repaired? It has happened many times that when I needed to take photos, the device failed by rebooting itself. It also happened once that after a full recharge, the battery went out of power in the middle of the day even I did not use the device much. I don't know if these problems will happen again after repairing.
I need a device that has: large screen, stylus writing, cellular phone function. The iPad PRO has no cellular function and Samsung does not make a new version of Note PRO 12.2. What suggestion do you have?
My brother rooted his phone and flashed a custom ROM but decided to go back to stock because YouTube would not work with the 60FPS. He used Samsung Kies to go back to stock ROM it didn't work He got an error saying "Frimware Emergency Recovery" in Kies. When he saw that he took out the battery and got an error saying "Frimware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again" on his phone. He putted his phone on download mode and used Odin3. V1.85 and rooted his phone and flashed CWM and SuperSU. HE flashed the CM 12.1 Nightlies he was able to go back past the Samsung boot but gets stuck on CM Boot. In Odin it won't work it says Failed when he wants to go back to stock ROM. He cant go to CWM he has to root it using odin to go into the custom recovery mode.
____Upgrade_and_Initi ___AT_T_Samsung_Galaxy_Note_ II___XDA_Forums[1].png IS what he got in Samsung Kies. WP_20151031_21_37_27_Pro[2].jpg IS what he got when he took out the battery and putted it back in WP_20151031_21_36_16_Pro[1].jpg Is what he gets when in Download mode.

Hey guys! I got mad with my honor 6's battery problem. it seems like my phone will automatically shut down when the battery level is still 27% shown on screen.,showing that the battery is empty. I wonder if some problem in the battery files but didn't know much more. Could someone give me some advice? I will really appreciate it ! thanks.
I'm a newbie. Can someone please explain what is Sony RIC & why do/should we need to disable it after rooting? I've rooted my M2 Aqua running Lollipop. Should I also need to disable RIC after that? Thanks in advance.
Always start small 046 to 052 then step 2 after that OTA or Upgrade, full should not be needed for 136.
If flashed directly from branded to 136 it will show the Balong description, downgrade with huawei download extractor and fastboot method to 052 and apply step 2 this will zero out custom vendor description.
Unlocked bootloader is necessary and does not influence OTA or local upgrades.
Root will brake all upgrades since it changes security model, be sure to unroot before flashing, after unrooting open a terminal emulator and type "reboot now" if it works it's still rooted and will brake.
Take time and backup and zero all data to factory defaults before Flashing... Be clean.
Great work with cyanogenmod! Just try now repair the cam and hd/voice options and it will be perfect! Im greatly thanks for the people who making this mod for this tablet!
The top speaker on my phone is noticeably louder than the bottom speaker. I've played music and watched videos in portrait and landscape mode and turned it every way to make sure it's not just the orientation. It's even more noticeable when I play this video to check: https://youtu.be/hTvJoYnpeRQ
Anyone else have this problem? Such a bummer because everything else about the phone is absolutely perfect. Gonna wait a few days to see if it gets better but I will probably RMA it. Just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this.
I have had a white Z5 Compact for a week and have now noticed that the bottom speaker is much louder than the top, ruining the stereo effect. I am sure it did not come this way out of the box. I didn't notice until after the recent firmware update (32.0.A.6.152), but cannot know whether this is the cause of the problem. I went through the hassle of factory reset and the phone still has the problem. I haven't subjected the phone to any physical trauma at all and will be returning it.
OK, this may sound like one of the dumbest questions ever, but I just don't get it. It is a noob question I feel, but I have been rooting/flashing ROMs for years.
I have Jasmine 5.0 installed in the stock ROM slot. I have flashify and Multi-System installed. I cant get TWRP, CWM, etc. I know this is in the main Jasmine release/discussion thread that it is not supported. I get it. Flashify/Multisystem are Apps I use once in the Lollipop GUI. (Unlike TWRP, CWM, in the normal traditional recovery which load in the bootloader. How tho, if say I tweak my phone some and suddenly the thing wont start up, do I flash another backup if I can't get into the Jasmine/lollipop UI? Phone is bricked and Flashify/Multisystem won't do me any good. I know this can't be right and there is an explaination. Can some1 explain it to me please?
On my phone I turned off fastboot, enabled developer mode, and enabled USB debugging.
I connect my phone, it says USB debugging connected - and my PC (Windows 7) recognized the device.
However, when I try fastboot devices it does not recognize my phone - it returns nothing.
I realized that I had previous versions of adb/fastboot installed on my PC (From HTC Syanc & the WugFresh Nexus toolkit). I uninstalled them and reinstalled the drivers from that link, but still no adb/fastboot.
One thing I noticed is that (unlike the tutorial video on the link) in Device Manager my phone is not recognized under Other devices/ADB interface, but rather appears under Android USB devices / My HTC. I tried following the tutorial and tried to update the driver software, but it was not possible to use the downloaded Google drivers.
The PC recognizes it as an MTP/Media Player device, but not as an ASB one.
I can't read chinese, but I'll attempt to explain based on Google translate. I've removed anything I couldn't understand or that was unnecessary. Post V1:
The following 3 ROMs work with the conversion zip. 1. BOH6_Foreverlocos_Breakdown_R1.1.zip (1.16G) 2. N920I N920C Dr.Ketan ROM L1 N920I_OH6_DrKetan_custom_ROM_L1.zip (1.18G) 3. N9200_5.11_Soul_ pure version .zip (1.22G)
Conversion package Contents: 1. Adds N5 Chinese input method 2. Adds Chinese (Taiwan environment, there is phonetic keyboard dialing, SPen have Chinese) 3. Turns off camera shutter sound 4. Adds exit option to browser 5. Speed Dial for 100 people 6. Call recording 7. Call / message blocking option 8. N9208 core files 9. N9208 dual sim files NOTE: We only need 8, 9, and NFC
How to Flash Transition Pack There are two kinds of ways
The first (tested with 1 ROM)
1. First flash ROM (N920C, N920I N920T N9200) 2. After flashing ROM and booting into system, flash conversion package in recovery
Disadvantages: flashing conversion package takes about 6 more minutes
The second (tested with 2 ROMs)
1. First flash ROM (N920C, N920I N920T N9200) 2. Do not reboot, flash conversion package in recovery, then reboot to system
The second way is recommended
Comprehensive Conclusion: I theory, this should make any ROM compatible with n9208
After flashing, the phone is entirely Chinese (Taiwan)
See screenshots
Post V2:
No explanation needed. Same as V1 with new package and download link.
Changelog (modifications to original N5_N9208_V2.zip) Note: I did not ask the developer for permission to modify and redistribute the package. Removed everything but the /system/lib* files Removed the kernel Made changes to updater-script Replaced update-binary as the original wasn't letting me flash
Known Issues NFC doesn't work. Dual SIM untested. Please report if it works for you. Only tested on SM-N9208_TW (Taiwan, BRI N9208ZTU1AOH4 with OJ3 Modem). Mod may only work for this device.
Working ROMs [N920 I/C/G ] Dr.Ketan ROM L4 (Link) Notes: None yet. Will probably use as my daily driver.
Any N920I ROM Notes: I assume it will be the same as above.
Partially Working ROMs DARTHSTALKER NOTE5 V4 (Link) Notes: SIM Manager Crashes. Mobile data only works with the original V2 zip (N5_N9208_V2)
N920T Dr.Ketan ROM L2 (Link) Notes: SIM Manager Crashes? Mobile data only works with the original V2 zip (N5_N9208_V2)? (Can't recall)
Any T-Mobile ROM Notes: Based on the above, I would say that dual SIM won't work, and you must use the original (N5_N9208_V2) zip. Please read the Post V1 to see what the conversion package does before flashing. If you don't want those changes made, use my modified package and a N920I ROM.
Installation Wipe Cache, Dalvik, Data, System Flash the following, then reboot to system:
ROM
Conversion package (N920I: Attached N920I-N9208_Conversion_Package, N920T: N5_N9208_V2.zip from Post V2)
Kernel (SkyHigh SM-N9208-SEA_TW 2.1, or Permissive Kernel with Auto Root by xiaolu from bottom of page here, or etc.)
How to Report Issues and Functionality Use the following template and add it to your post: Model: SM-N908_TW (other variant is SM-N908_SEA) Region: BRI Country: Taiwan Version: N9208ZTU1AOH4 Modem: OJ3
Avoid posting issues the ROM developers' thread as this zip modifies system files.
To Do Add NFC Support for N920I ROMs. If someone can make a flashable zip that fixes the NFC problem for incompatible ROMs, then we may have a method for making any ROM work on N9208.
I hear people can't port over the A9 Sense 7 Marshmallow to M8 because M8 is not 64 bit? Is there literally no way to port over except wait for M8 to Marshmallow?
I feel excited to share this information with you.
Till last week i was frustrated with wifi limited connectivity problem both in my laptop and in my smartphone xperia z2.
In your smartphone after lollipop update wifi sometiimes shows exclamatory symbol and the internet wont work.
For those who like to get rid of this frustration please follow these steps.
1. Type 192.168.1.1 in your browser. Recommended to connect your modem through LAN cable until this process. Try avoiding wifi.
2. Search for internet in your modem configuration
3. Then scroll down and search for "WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK Mixed Mode".
4. Search for "Encryption". By default the encryption will be set to TKIP/AES.
5. Change it to TKIP and save it..
6. You are done. Turn off your modem for 10 seconds and switch it ON. Now you can connect with your wifi :)
This limited connectivity problem never happened to me again after changing the encryption. :good:
Note : The above said steps may vary depending on your modem. Please change your encryption thats the point here. AES is the latest encryption for WPA 2 mode and TKIP for WPA mode. I am a newbie here. I am sorry if my steps doesnt help you. I hope someone will be benefitted.
When in a dark room or so, when I take picture with flash mode on...the camera screen goes blank and I hve to lock and unlock it to solve the problem. But if happens again when I take another shot.
Is there any solution ? Do I hve to worry ? Is it hardware or software problem and if its a software prob...will it damage my camera hardware or any other ? Please help me out!

Team Darksyde presents VRThemes for your Framework - Contacts - Pulldown backgrounds for TMS 3.0 Blue Ice Theme ONLY
Post #2 - VRTheme.zips for the Pulldown backgrounds Post #3 - VRTheme.zips for the Contact backgrounds
These zips are flashable through SafeStrap and FlashFire.
I will add the replacement instructions on the top of Post#2 and Post#3
The replacement directions are almost the same for all zips, please take notice of the png image names as they do change for each one.
So first off I will give some advice on how to make your own then how to replace the one in my flashable zip with your own. Remember that this site is about learning. I share this because I'd love to see what people come up with and to give them the option to make their own. I appreciate and look forward to seeing all of the contributions that I'm sure people will make with these.
The image will need to be 1080x1920
Framework Background Guide:
It must be named darksyde.png
Then this is how you will replace the darksyde.png that you just made with the one in the flashable zip I have attached to this post (or any of the other ones I've added to the collection below.) This flashable zip uses VRTheme to replace the image inside the apk.
You will need the program WinRAR or 7zip to replace the content inside of the zip easier than decompiling and recompiling it.
Open VR_Theme_framework_****.zip in WinRAR or 7zip and open vrtheme>system>framework>framework-res.apk>res>drawable-xxhdpi
Replace darksyde.png.
Close the zip and put it on your device to flash.
Here is a VRTheme.zip for replacing all 3 img at the same time. You just need to follow the directions for framework-contacts and pulldown to change each one in this zip. VR_Theme_framework-contacts-pulldown_default.zip

So I might have made a mistake. I had SD installed then flashed the xdebbed 34b kernel. Twrped and erased everything . Installed Jasmine 901 and 902 the rebooted. Nothing. Blue and green led for about 10 mins then I hear the phone vibrate like it's starting up. but the screen is still black. I hit power + volume down and hole to reboot into recovery and I can hear my vs985 take a screen shot but it's still stuck with a totally black screen? I'm stumped. Any help/ Thanks
Just came off of having to put up with using Razr M's for the last two years. I bought two used G3's this week and am now attempting to figure out which way to go. These are our first LG products since flip days. The specs of the G3 really grabbed my attention when I read up on it. I've spent the last (7) hours crawling around this forum and am now somewhat burned-out, overwhelmed, confused, ETC. (and the beer supply ran out...) The two (new to me) phones are in great shape. One is @24B and the other is @10B The 24B unit pulled down the 35B update today and is waiting/holding to update. The 10B unit when I select 'Check for Updates' is pulling down a 110MB update, however when I select 'Install', it reboots, attempts upgrade and then returns a error #0x1111004. I got a feeling that the PO didn't execute something quite right when he wiped it before selling it.
Since these units are at a stage where I can wipe and flash at will, I'm trying to determine if I should go custom or just accept the 35B. I'm leaning towards Jasmine 9 or Xdabbeb. Once I get these setup & configured I'll most likely stay with it. I'll tinker but that's about it. I want stability and reliability and won't be flashing just to try out the latest. (i may have to get ahold of another for that :p) One feature that caught my eye that I would truly, dearly like to have is 'Record Call'. (if possible)
So if I may ask for some opinions on which way to go I would appreciate it.
Hi, i just bricked my phone just now.. im so careless.. I want to downgrade my cm12.1 to cm11... this is not my 1st time downgrade oneplusone.. I just got a Gear S2 to add to my "bumming it" wardrobe. Love the Urbane, esp when I am dressed up but it left something to be desired for workouts. I tried several times but it always failed to give me anything accurate. So did my original Moto 360, was always way off once you started moving around and sweating. I wanted to directly compare them against my real pulse to see how they stood up so I made a little video if anyone's interested.
I just picked up a Gear S2 and found the heart rate is superior to anything I've used. Very happy with it. Still getting used to the OS but love it so far. Wish there was more app support tho but I'm sure that'll come. I did a little comparason video between the Urbane, S2 and an accurate heart rate monitor. Check it out:
Ok I really did it this time. Here is what i stupidly did. my phone was on the 35b update so I used the tot method to take it back to 10b. I rooted and then used the ota updates to upgrade to 12b, and I believe to more times (of course after telling supersu to stay active thru the updates) until I got to the update that would take me over into lollipop. I downloaded the update, but then needed to charge my phone i noticed, so I told it to postphone the update. After I had a somewhat decent charge I told my g3 to update and it immediately went to twrp recovery. Thinking this odd I tried to reboot and it started to bootloop inside twrp. I tried getting it to do a recovery of a save that i had previously had downloaded to my ext sd before I lost root taking the 35b update and it went all the way thru and said success. But as soon as it rebooted into what should have been the system, It instead started bootlooping at the lg logo and hasnt stopped since. I not have got it to go to recovery but it is stock and twrp is now gone but every option results in simply restarting the bootloop. I plugged into my computer to try both tot and kdz only to have them both fail because now my computer no longer recognizes my device. During the stage that I was in recovery trying to use different predownloaded roms is when I realized that my imei has also been erased, which is why I assume my computer cant recognize it anymore. I know I probably have a list of mistakes that could have been avoided but I tried to do this myself and I admit i simply need the vast knowledge of the xda. Please someone guide me in the right direction to fix my phone. I don't have alot of money to spend to replace it and just really need to fix this one please.
I have HTC desire 820 single SIM Bootloader: unlocked OS: 1.29.401.2 I received ota update for lollipop but I had to reset my phone...And now I cant receive any ota update What is the problem?? Is there any solution??

This thread will be for battery discussion related to the One X. At this point we're only speculating, but it will also be a great place to post battery test results from reviews, your own battery life results, and general discussion about improving battery life.

Hi, I have a China Unicom version of M8, which is compatible with both 3/4G of China Unicom and China Mobile.
While now I am in the US and use a T-Mobile SIM, I wonder,
1) Can I change it to a T-Mobile version such that I can then use T-Mobile 4G LTE networks? I currently can only access T-Mobile 3G networks (HSPA+). I checked that the China Unicom version M8 support FDD-1800/2100MHz 4G LTE band (according to HTC-China official site), while T-Mobile's 4G frequency includes Band 2 (1900 MHz), Band 4 (1700/2100 MHz), Band 12 (700 MHz) (according to T-Mobile official site). It seems it should be compatible.
2) I currently cannot receive any Wireless Emergency Alerts message, is it because my phone is of China Unicom version? Then can I receive these messages by change my M8 with a T-Mobile Rom?
Thank you very much for your reading this thread and kind help.
It is a USB Type-C to MicroUSB adapter for Xiaomi Mi 4C but it works with our Oneplus Two, charging, file transfer and OTG works. It is wayyy cheaper than Oneplus's adapter
USB type-C adapter + microUSB OTG adapter + standard USB flash drive works fine.
USB type-C adapter + microUSB OTG adapter + USB hub + gaming controller + USB sound card + another USB hub + 4 flash drive all working at the same time! (am I crazy?) (I have to use StickMount app to mount 4 flash drive at the same time)
I bought my wife this tablet but it keeps on giving me a "cannot connect to the camera" error. I have checked it with many camera apps as well as from gallery but the same result a black screen and the error message. I have searched high and low on the device for an "update software" icon but the is none to be found in the settings. About the device shows a Baseband that starts with MOLY or MOBY and the Firmware with HT7 and shows as custom ROM HT7. Any ideas as to whether I can flash a newer firmware or a custom rom. It is currently on 4.4.2.
Your assistance would be appreciated. Regards, Shane.
G3 Battery charge indicator will not stop beeping and/or vibrating once its charged. This issue makes me want to return to my iPhone! Lollipop/LG needs to fix this issue. I need to be able to turn off the indicator that my battery is charged. It wakes me and my wife up at night. My phone needs to stay plugged in because it is my alarm clock and the battery will drain. I am open to any suggestions or solutions. I have tried many.
So I'm having a bit of a situation with my Nexus 5. It is a first production run as I ordered it the hour it came out.
Today it started having HUGE issues. This is a few days after I downloaded Marshmallow 6.0. The device would shut down and then go into a boot loop for HOURS. Sometimes it'd start back up fine and be usable for a few minutes, but then shutting down and becoming unusable. Sometimes it'd start up and the "Optimizing Apps" screen would come up as if I had just made an Android upgrade, and it would complete after some minutes and become usable until it restarted again.
The phone "seems to be working" now OK. This thread is gonna be a bit multi-faceted, so sorry for asking so much :/ Just having a situation with my phone I want to remedy.
First, I'm looking for a good unrooted backup program I can use to backup the stuff on my phone to my computer or somewhere else. I want it in case I get the phone working again or I get a new android and want to transfer stuff over. Is it possible to move data from one backup to a new phone? Not sure. Either way, just looking for a good backup program I can use, if anyone can recommend me one.
Second, besides the obvious possibility of Marshmallow messing my phone up, a lot of people say it could have to do with a "stuck internal power button" and that "smacking the phone against a hard surface near the camera" could help. This seems mega sketchy, but at this point Im willing to do it after a backup. Does this solution have any merit or is it, as we say, "bulls***"?
Third, is there any possible way to remedy a bootloop software-side?
Is there a simple way to backup my desktop shortcuts made with adblock browser? I like to put my favorito websites on my android desktop, but sometimes i do Factory reset and lose my shortcuts
VR_Theme_framework-contacts-pulldown_default.zip

well i was one of the lucky ones to be able to check out the case for free. so here are my thoughts on it.
the quality of the material is really nice. feels very well made. does not add too much bulk but it does feel a little thicker than the normal cheap ebay tpu. the case fits the phone very nice and secure. only think i noticed was the speaker grill doesn't seem to match the holes on the phone exactly. it doesn't effect the sound to where u really notice any problems. speaker is still loud and clear it just looks a little off. i think i would prefer a actual cut out like the usb port has. the s pen cut out was plenty big and did not give me any problems taking it out. it was actually easier than my favorite case which is the ringke fusion. other than that the case seems flawless. i would have liked to check out one of the ones with color accents but beggars cant be choosers. thanks to TalonFangs for the opportunity to give the case a shot and give feedback on it.
BTW sorry about the dirty fingers i did change my ball joint out in my mustang earlier that day, and im a guy so.........
can anyone help me here. I flashed the new firmware G900TUVU1FOG6 firmware and then flashed the twrp recovery and then installed mavrik 9.6. after doing this I am now getting a "please install a tmobile sim card. what can I do if anything
I just got an s4 SGH-1337m as a replacement phone running 5.0.2 out of the box and have yet to find a root method for it. Could anyone enlighten me on how I might do this? Everything I have found seems to be old or not compatable with Canadian models.

Hi. So I'm trying to unlock my bootloader. If I plug the moto g into my PC even when in fastboot it just turns itself back on. I cannot turn it off at all when it's plugged in. Any suggestions?
Edit: I also cannot select anything in fast boot or factory reset (the factory reset button in settings does nothing)
Hello guys, can somebody please tell me if they encountered the following things with k920 - once in 3-4 reboots, phone gets stuck at lenovo logo - once in two reboots i get the "Android is upgrading" popup - i am using the phone with a local sim card and a simcard in roaming, the phone doesnt have a 3g data connection until second roaming sim finds the network and that can take from 5 min to half an hour - if i do a factory reset the first impression after reboot is that somebody altered the software, i have two folders that are completly empty, one is games and one is social, as soon as i go into each of them they delete themselves - after the recent factory reset the wifi seemed very very slow and also there are no arrows telling me that wifi is transffering data
what do you think i should do ? i already tried the sdfuse sd update, is there any other way that i can put the original software ? Thanks
I have restored stock firmware. When I get the system update by OTA, robooted the phone and that said fail a minute later. :crying: It looks like the problem is that ProgramMenu.apk have.
Hi, I have samsung S6, Android 5.1.1, with greenify installed, but apps like facebbok, whatsapp, skype dont get greenified, because they dont appear on the kill list, is this normal? or it requires the donation package to have that feature? on Android 5.0.2 This apps were available for kill with greenify. I unlocked my phones bootloader and tried installing a custom recovery but noticed that my device is not supported by cwm or twrp. So is there any other recovery i that i can use. And is it safe to flash cwm or twrp recovery image on unsupported devices? Pls help!!And r there any custom rom for this device.
Hello fellow K3 note users and developers. I got this phone a week back. I have already flashed around 9-10 ROMs on my device. I have to say that I'm not completely satisfied with any one of them. I had hoped for a huge development in XDA for this device, but unfortunately, we don't even have a Forum for our phone, as yet.
So, is anyone currently developing ROM/ROMs for this device? If yes, please let us know. :) I am interested in ROM development, but I know almost nothing about ROM development, so If there is a project happening out there, I would be glad to learn from that, and be a part of it. At least as much as I can be.
Cheers! :)
P.S : I know that there are a lot of ROMs on that Spanish website and the Russian website, but I was hoping for more development on XDA. And I'm currently on the Androium 5 ROM.
Since 4.3 it seems that DMU public key authentication is no longer working even when the folder is added manually. The phone instead uses username/password + HA/AAA. Bad deal for me as my phone pulls correct keys but not the passwords. I don't know if they are backwards or where they stop/end as the as the length fields are missing. Its as if *228 is combining and writing different NV items together.
My other phone, a GS2 I can put almost anything for the passwords and since 10.key is correct along with HA/AAA I get 3g data. The S3 fails AAA, CHAP & PPP, Is there any way to enable use of DMU pubs after 4.3?
I don't want to get into a whole debate about root but I am coming from the G3 and previously had the G2. I had both of these rooted with excellent Cloudy stock Roms.
It is my goal to live without root on this phone. It seems to run great, has enough ram and battery to handle lost background apps with little to almost zero lag. I am just kinda tired of the TWRP, ROOT, TB, Flashing lifestyle... Lol. Been doin it since the HD2.
However I did not discover until yesterday while using the phone unrooted that Dual Window is only limited to a handful of apps. I guess with the rooted Roms the mod for other apps was already in place so I never noticed. I honestly gotta say that's pretty terrible. I don't understand the thought process behind why LG would limit such a strong multitasking feature. I personally used it to balance my checkbook beside my bank app. SUPER EASY! Now this kind of sucks. It might be enough to make me root it. I am trying the ad block thing I found in another post but this dual window thing is a FAIL without root IMHO.
Otherwise this is a bad ass phone. I am loving it.
I'm pleased to announce the first (unofficial) CM 13 ROM for the Galaxy Note 3... This ROM is almost pure CyanogenMod 13, based on the latest source as of 10/31/15. The only changes made from CM source are:
Quote:
1) Added @Chainfire's SuperSU. 2) Replaced the CM kernel source with Temasek's latest hlte kernel source.
Outside of that, it is stock, rooted, odexed CyanogenMod.
Requirements
Any Note 3 model with a Snapdragon Processor.
Custom recovery (I recommend TWRP).
Patience.
Instructions
Download the ROM zip, the gapps zip, and the gapps fix zip to your device.
Boot to recovery, and do a full wipe (minus your internal and external SD, which are optional).
Flash the ROM, the gapps, and the fix, in that order.
Once everything has completed and the ROM boots, let it sit for 5-10 minutes before messing with it. It will likely boot to a black screen with just the status bar initially, but as long as you let it "settle" for a few minutes, it will eventually start Setup Wizard and then work as expected.
